The Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are often compared to paradise. They are a group of islands famed for their sunshine and fine sand beaches that enjoy a wonderful climate and constant temperature throughout the year. This archipelago consists of 7 islands each radically different to the others with a surprising diversity of landscape and culture.

Tenerife

Tenerife, has also become known as the Island of Eternal Spring due to its constant pleasant weather. It is the largest island of the Canary Island archipelago. Here you will discover the most varied landscapes of all the islands: an impressive mountain range with the awe inspiring volcanic crater of Caņadas del Teide, with a diameter of 20 kilometres, and the 3.718 meters high Mount Teide at its centre; extremely fertile valleys with important plantations of bananas and tomatoes; and a seafront offering beautiful steep coasts, as well as wide beaches of fine volcanic and white sand.

Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria is known as the Small Continent because of its extremely varied landscapes. European, African and even American vegetation all grow next to each other here and there are very few places on earth where you can find such different landscapes and climatic zones so geographically close to each other. The mountain range in the island's centre is approximately 2000 metres and is cut by some bizarre canyons, some of which lead through desert land and some through tropical forests to the coastline of wide sandy beaches.

Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura is nicknamed the Old Land as it is believed to be the island with the oldest history. There is only a very narrow channel that separates Fuerteventura from the African continent and the views from the coastline are very impressive. Fuerteventura has the longest beaches of the entire archipelago. These are of wonderful fine sand and the island has become a paradise not only for spending holidays at the beach but also for fishing and water sports.

Lanzarote

Lanzarote is something very unique, not only in terms of the islands that surround it, but in relation to the rest of the planet. The extraordinary landscape here seems to be of another world and the inhabitants of the island used to say that on the seventh day God had forgotten Lanzarote. Lanzarote, is of volcanic origin like the others of this archipelago, but unlike the others whose volcanoes have been largely dormant for centuries, here the volcanoes were still active in the 19th century. Great parts of the islands surface are covered with ashes and lava, giving the feeling of being on the moon although now Lanzarote's inhabitants have made a great effort to cultivate this land and today you can find large plantations of fruits and vegetables and even vineyards between the volcanic craters in Geria.
